From your new neighborhood pool hall to your next pizza destination, great things are brewing, Birmingham. Ready to see what this new week will bring? Read on for our best new openings in Birmingham.
1. Eterna Pizzeria
Birmingham has been on fire recently with all the new pizza places, and we’re not crazy about it. Eterna Pizzeria brings authentic Italian flavor to Printer’s Corner in Parkside with the finest ingredients such as 00 Caputo flour, tomato sauce, sausage, pepperoni, spicy salami. Everything except fresh produce is imported from Italy.
When they say Italian flavor, that also includes ovens. These bad boys are imported directly from Italy and can cook a pizza in 90 seconds flat. Stay tuned by following them on Instagram for more details on the opening.
2. Rock N Roll Sushi
Get ready to thrill your taste buds with Rock N Roll Sushi. This third location in downtown Birmingham is an Asian fusion restaurant with a focus on rockin ‘rolls and hibachi flavors. With a classic rock and roll theme, it’s a memorable experience.
This new location will join the pre-existing Hoover location and Colonnade location for Birmingham’s ultimate trio. We can’t say how excited we are for the Sweet Home Alabama roll.
3. Axehouse billiard table
Hoover, this one’s for you. The old All American Outdoors store has been transformed into a real old fashioned pool hall with over 10 new Diamond pool tables and dart stations. Grab a beer and your closest friends as we celebrate the opening of Axhouse Billiards.
I know that for some of us our game of pool is not too strong. But for a few of us who are pool champions with a competitive edge, Axehouse hosts their Friday Night League and several tournaments. Check them out this weekend or visit their Facebook to join a league.
4. Ruby sun
We firmly believe that a good brunch leads to a good day. From flights of mimosa to New Orleans-style recipes with a twist, what’s not to love? Ruby Sunshine is opening a new location in the old Brook Highland IHOP in mid-September, and we’re excited for all of our mountain friends.
What are you going to try? I know the Crawfish and Grits Benedict seems to die for! Stay up to date on their Instagram for all of the opening festivities. You don’t want to miss it.
5. Merrick Adams’ exhibition at Scott Miller Projects
Calling all artists and art lovers: there is a new exhibition in town. Tucked away in a Mercantile on Morris suite, Scott Miller’s Projects is home to independent artists looking to showcase their work.
His new exhibition features the work of Los Angeles-based artist Merrick Adams and is titled Cryptic coloring: the pattern that connects. The official celebration of the opening of the exhibition will take place on September 2 at 6 p.m. and will host an artist’s conference with a question-and-answer session to follow. Can’t do it in person? Don’t worry, everything will be streamed live via Facebook. However, this exhibit only lasts until October 8, so hurry up to see it before it leaves.
