HULL – The first of two free Hull Artists Open Studios Tours, a city-wide gallery and workspace exhibit, is scheduled for August 7-8.

There will be 31 artists who will participate in 22 locations across Hull. The studios will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

Begun in 1996, the tour quickly became a popular summer event in the city. This year’s installment is the group’s 25th year. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of Open Studios last year. Bart Blumberg, president of Hull Artists, said the group was “disappointed” but “coming back strong nonetheless”.

“The group’s flagship event attracts over 1,000 visitors each year who look forward to exploring the wonderful and diverse district of Hull,” said Blumberg.

Works of art will be on display in a variety of mediums, including acrylic and watercolor paintings, portraits, photographs, jewelry, woodworking, sculpture and pottery.

Hull Artists is a regional group of around 90 artists and was founded in 1995. The organization works to bring artists together and showcase their work in the city.

Tour cards are available at the Hull Artists’ Gallery Nantasket, 121 Nantasket Ave., and can be downloaded at coqueartistes.com. For more information call 781-780-1188 or follow Hull Artists on Facebook and Instagram.
