“Kiwi did a great job, Mata (22 carries, 91 yards) ran the ball strong and Christoph had some great catches. We just need the rest of the 11 to show up and the 11 to go, ”Adams said. “It just wasn’t happening tonight, but they played hard from start to finish and that’s what I love. As long as we’re still competing in the fourth quarter, I can’t be mad at them.
The Grizzlies will host Rodriguez (2-0) this Friday night.

Head coach Johnny Pelfini said most of his JV Grizzlies also played their first games in their history Friday night and were injured by turnovers in the shutout loss, but gave the Wildcats credit (1 -1).
“Will C. Wood is a great team, a great team, a very physical team, and they did a great job controlling the line of scrimmage,” he said. “We made a lot of mental mistakes that turned into physical mistakes. We’re a very thin team – most of our guys play three ways – but we have a good group of kids who really love football so we’re excited to be back to work.
Pelfini said Liam Gorman played a great game with the strong outside linebacker, wide receiver H and kicker, and Daniel Ortiz as a cornerback and wide receiver.
“Liam had a good first catch that went quite a distance, maybe 60 yards, which put us in a good position on the pitch, but then we returned the ball,” said the coach. “He’s our kicker and unfortunately he kicked a lot today, but he did a great job getting things done.
