VIETNAM, October 19 –

HCM CITY – Vietnam International Wood Industry Fair (Vietnam Wood 2022) and Vietnam International Furniture Accessories, Hardware and Tools Fair (Furnitec 2022) are held simultaneously from October 18 to 21 at the Center exhibitions and conventions from Saigon to HCM City.

Vietnam Wood 2022 and Furnitec 2022 attracted more than 250 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions who showcase their latest machinery and equipment for forestry and woodworking industry, primary and secondary wood processing, surface finishing and use of wood waste, materials and consumables for woodworking, fittings and furniture accessories, technical services, tools and auxiliaries.

There are also international pavilions from Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Russia, Taiwan (China) and the United States presenting a unique business platform for manufacturers of wood production equipment. and furniture and complete manufacturing solutions.

Seminars and conferences will be held on solutions that help manufacturers monitor their products from raw material to delivery stages.

Speaking at the opening ceremony on October 18, Nguyễn Quốc Khanh, president of the Ho Chi Minh City Wood Crafts and Industry Association (HAWA), one of the organizers, said said Việt Nam’s timber exports in the first nine months of the year amounted to $12.4. billion, an increase of 7% year-on-year.

But inflation and uncertainties facing the global economy will impact exports for the rest of the year, he warned.

Some wood companies have adopted modern technology in the form of imported machinery, but most use outdated machinery, he said.

“Việt Nam’s woodworking and wood furniture industry aims for sustainable development.

“Among the factors related to sustainability, I believe that production technology and new materials play a key role… in changing mentality and management.”

Organized by Viet Nam National Trade Fair & Advertising Company, Yorkers Trade & Marketing Service Co and HAWA, the events also feature an online platform from October 18-24. —VNS
