RAPID CITY, SD — The annual Rapid City Woodworking Show was held Saturday at the Knecht Home Center.

For 14 years, the Rapid City Woodworkers Association has held the show at the Visitor Center to showcase the talent of its members, along with fun games and activities for children.

The event also highlights the organization’s toy program, where carpenters make miniature cars to donate to 22 different organizations around Rapid City.

Members of the organization say they are happy to be back and have noticed that wood is not the only topic of conversation.

“People were spending twice as much time talking as before. People miss each other, I guess,” Rapid City Woodworkers president Robert Buchanan said. “People like to get together and talk about their wood, and now that they’re getting to know each other, they’re starting to talk about their family and things like that.”

If you want to join the Rapid City Woodworkers Association, all you have to do is show up for a meeting on the second Monday of the month at 910 Wood Ave.
