If you follow us, you probably know that over the past few months we have featured many projects from the Woodworking Art Youtube channel. And the explanation of why we do it is very simple: his work is more than impressive, and the world should know it. There are a lot of projects that we like, but our favorites are the 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser, the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD and more recently the Jeep Wrangler 392 and the Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC. Now the guy behind the channel is back with another awesome piece of art. This time, his wooden project is based on the 2022 Ford F-450 Super Duty.

From block of wood to masterpiece

Woodworking Art’s Ford F-450 comes with a working tailgate step

His work begins as usual with a few blocks of wood that are measured, cut and easily brought to life. He starts by sculpting the sides of the truck and continues with the bed, roof, front and rear, and engine cover until every piece is complete. As you might be used to by now, the guy pays attention to every detail of the truck and every element is carefully crafted to look like the original. He even opted for folding running boards and mirrors, opening doors and hood, and even moving windshield wipers.

While the whole creative process is fascinating, we have to admit that we are fascinated by how the wheels and tires turn out. And finally, when starting to put things together, it’s amazing how the headlights, taillights and all other elements look like the original. The truck not only comes with a working suspension, but it also has a tailgate that opens and closes, and even Ford’s built-in tailgate step.

Looks like the original, missing 475 horsepower under the hood

Ford F-450 by woodworking art

Sure, this wood-crafted engine doesn’t deliver the same power as the true 6.7-liter Power Stroke® turbo-diesel V8 engine, but the results are just as impressive. The true Power Stroke V-8 delivers a total of 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque. Alongside, the F-450 Super Duty is also offered with a 7.3-liter V-8 engine that delivers 430 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. Both engines can be mated to a 6-speed SelectShift automatic or a 10-speed SelectShift automatic with selectable drive modes. Of course, this wooden version won’t have the same 21,000-pound towing capacity either, but that doesn’t mean it’s not as much fun.
