MANHEIM, Lancaster County, Pa. – Wood Pro Expo Lancaster (WPE) begins its two-day run on Thursday, October 14, with a crowded showroom and a full range of educational opportunities.
Each day of the event will begin with a free presentation at 8:00 am. Verlon Miller, Business Advisor, Gehman Accounting, will discuss how to make confident financial decisions to support and grow a business on Thursday. Friday’s free opening speech by Will Sampson, editor-in-chief of FDMC, will explore strategies and best practices for calculating more profitable prices.
The educational component of WPE includes a pair of paid classroom sessions each day presented in partnership with the Cabinetmakers Association. Topics include how to successfully run a small carpentry shop, invest in machinery, understand an income statement and finishing trends. Learn more about the sessions.
Education spills over into the showroom with the return of the popular Running Machine (RMP) program. Experts from four exhibiting companies will explain and answer questions about a variety of technologies, including nested CNC routing, edge banding, CNC dovetail, and more. Participants are invited to attend one of the scheduled RMP sessions free of charge. Learn more.
New at this year’s show is the Classic Machine Pavilion. As the name suggests, the pavilion will feature woodworking standards including a straight line rip saw and pocket hole machine. Learn more.
The main event of WPE is the fair itself. In addition to woodworking machine and software demonstrations, the show will feature displays of everything from cabinet hardware, wood components and fastening systems to hardwoods, finishing equipment and dust collection.
